Professor Herron will discuss the misinterpretation of Ukrainian politics, history, and
culture that Vladimir Putin used to justify his escalation of the ongoing war. In the talk,
Professor Herron will refer to social science research that he and other scholars have
conducted to challenge faulty claims about Ukraine.
