The Department congratulates Niklas Hänze for the Christiane Rajewsky Award!

Niklas Hänze, our graduate student in the M.A. Political Science and Public Administration, is the recipient of the Christiane-Rajewsky Award from the Association for Peace and Conflict Studies for his outstanding master's thesis. Mr. Hänze received the award for his thesis, "Reversing the Causal Arrow: The Nexus Between Armed Conflict and Natural Disasters," in which he used quantitative methods to investigate the extent to which violent conflict contributes to the occurrence of natural disasters. The Christiane-Rajewsky-Award is an award for outstanding contributions to peace and conflict research and is endowed with 1250 €.
