POLNET+ May 29 & 30, 2020

Comparing Networks

The 2020 edition of the POLNET+ summer school on advanced social network analysis will focus on comparative methods for network analysis from the sociological and political science perspectives. We will compare different kinds of networks, including social networks, cultural networks, discourse networks and committee networks. We will draw comparisons between networks at the local and national levels, and between networks over time. The program offers theoretical lectures with empirical examples as well as interactive hands-on tutorials that will provide the participants with advanced knowledge on qualitative and quantitative methods for drawing network comparisons.

Due to the COVID-19 situation, we will not hold this summer school at the University of Konstanz, as we usually do; instead, we will offer it in the form of a webinar. The webinar will be organized by the University of Konstanz faculty members Boris Holzer (Department of Sociology) and Volker Schneider (Department of Politics and Public Administration). It will take place on May 29 and May 30, 2020. Our program also includes a keynote speech by Jeff Broadbent (University of Minnesota).

You can find more information about the faculty in the list of short biographies (pdf-file, 206 KB).
