Research

Research and teaching in the research group deal with democratic politics from the perspective of comparative politics and policy analysis. Our thematic focus is on the question of how stable democratic rule is possible under the condition of strongly marked social diversity. Current projects address the political mobilization of national and ethnic identities, as well as the political design and implementation of migration and integration policies. The research group is part of the department's focus area "Democracy and Public Policy" and is co-organizer of the lecture series: "Comparative Politics and Political Economy".
