Lea Haiges

I am a PhD researcher at the Graduate School of the Social and Behavioural Sciences (GSBS) and joined the team in November 2019. I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Administration and International Relations at Zeppelin University in Friedrichshafen before receiving my Master’s degree in Politics and Public Administration from the University of Konstanz. My research interests include ethnic politics, inequality, and conflict. I am part of the research project “Mobilising Inequalities: From Grievances to Conflict” within the Politics of Inequality Excellence Cluster. In my dissertation project, I investigate the electoral strategies of ethnic parties and particularly their usage of identity appeals. In doing so, I mostly rely on text data (e.g., Facebook Posts, manifestos), videos, archival data, and interviews.
