The annual Workshop on Conflict Dynamics brings together early career researchers working on political violence, including armed conflict and contentious politics, to discuss and receive feedback on their research from their peers and senior researchers. The workshop is an independent event organized in 2024 by researchers from Technical University of Munich / Hochschule für Politik, Swedish Defence University, and University of Konstanz.
The idea for this workshop was born at the “Home for Cooperation” located in the UN buffer zone in Nicosia, Cyprus. Since 2017, the Workshop on Conflict Dynamics provides a home of cooperation – feedback, exchange, and networking – for early career researchers working on questions of peace and conflict. We take pride in providing a constructive environment for feedback in particular on early stage projects. Research presented at the workshop has been published in leading journals in the field including the American Journal of Political Science and the Journal of Peace Research.
After several years at Nuffield College, University of Oxford (2017-2022) and University of York (2023), the workshop takes place at Technical University of Munich Science & Study Center Raitenhaslach in 2024. We would like to express our gratitude to all previous supporters and in particular the previous organizers.
