Associate Researchers

Currently, we have the pleasure to be joined by the following associate researchers: 

Dr. Prisca Jöst, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Cluster of Excellence "The Politics of Inequality", Member of the Program on Governance and Local Development (GLD) of the University of Gothenburg, Sweden. Prisca obtained a PhD in Political Science from the University of Gothenburg. She held visiting researcher positions at the McMillan Center for International and Area Studies at Yale and the University of Mannheim. Her research lies at the intersection between Comparative Politics and Development Studies. She works on socioeconomic inequality, political participation and public goods provision in Africa.
 
Dr. Abena Yalley, Postdoctoral Fellow at the Zukunftskolleg, Department of Literature, Arts and Media Studies. Abena obtained her PhD in Gender Studies in the University of Ibadan, Nigeria and masters degree in Development and International Cooperation from the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. Prior to her Postdoctoral fellowship, she was a recipient of the prestegious ECOWAS Fellowhip for young African scholars. Her research broadly focuses on gender inequalities, violence against women, masculinity, policing domestic violence, African feminism and development, migration, and security in Sub-Saharan Africa. In the past few years, she has been focusing on researching violence within healthcare systems - obstetric violence
