Philipp Kling

I’m a PhD Student at the Graduate School of Decision Sciences, where I’m being supervised by Karsten Donnay. My work contrasts the effects of social and traditional media on opinion formation. In particular I focus on mechanisms of media consumption leading to homogeneous opinion clusters and causing polarisation. In this PhD project I utilize agent-based modeling approaches as well as sentiment analyses in combination with online surveys.

I received both my BA (Major in Sociology, Minor in Statistics) and my MSc (Social and Economic Data Analysis) from the University of Konstanz.
