Sebastian Hellmeier

I am a member of the “Communication, Networks and Contention” Research Group and a PhD candidate in the Graduate School of Decision Sciences at the University of Konstanz. Previously, I completed the two-year double degree master's programme offered by the University of Konstanz (European Master in Government, M.A.) in cooperation with the Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona (Research Master in Political Science, MRes). Prior to this, I studied Political Science (B.A.) at the University of Mannheim.

My research interests, in broad terms, are comparative politics and the application of quantitative research methods. In particular, I am interested in political protest, authoritarian regimes and the political impacts of information and communication technologies.
