Arndt Leininger

Arndt Leininger was substituting for Prof. Dr. Peter Selb from April 2020 to September 2020 assuming the duties in teaching of the Professorship for Survey Research. Hence, he was on leave from my position as a research fellow at the Chair for Political Sociology of Germany at Freie Universität Berlin during this time. Prior to that  Arndt Leininger has been a research fellow at the Chairs for Public Policy and Empirical Political Science at Johannes Gutenberg-Universität Mainz. He holds a PhD in Governance from the Hertie School of Governance, Berlin, an MSc in Political Science and Political Economy from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA in Political Science from Freie Universität Berlin.

His areas of research are in political behavior and applied quantitative methods. Arndt Leininger is interested in direct democracy, turnout, youths in politics, election forecasting, economic voting and electoral studies more broadly. His work has been published in Political Science Research and Methods, Electoral Studies and Research and Politics amongst others.

Arndt Leininger is also a founding member and former board member of CorrelAid, a data science non-profit. From 2012 to 2013 he worked as parliamentary aide in the German Bundestag. He tweets about political science, citizen participation, data analysis and sometimes football using the handle @a_leininger.
