Dr. Sebastian Köhler

Sebastian Köhler was a post doctoral researcher at the Center for Data and Methods until the end of winter 2022. He studied Political Science and Economics at the University of Mannheim. He holds a Doctoral degree in Political Science from the University of Mannheim. Before joining the University of Konstanz in January 2017 he worked as a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the Department of Government of the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).

His research interests are in the area of Political Economy. In particular he is interested in the analysis of political decision-making at the national and international level. His research approach is dominated by a combination of formal theory and econometric methods. Current projects entail project on Fiscal Governance in the Eurozone, a project on legislative Politics in Portugal, as well as a textbook on experimental methods in the social sciences.

He has taught courses on Bargaining, Game Theory, Public Choice, Lobbying, the Political Economy of the Eurozone, as well as Social Science Methods. For further details on his background and research please also visit his personal website.
