Welcome at the Working Group for
Political Theory

At the intersection of political science, philosophy, sociology, psychology, and many other disciplines, political theory is concerned with a wide variety of topics: Justice, legitimacy, domination, power, freedom, society, conflict, consensus and dissent, identity.

In our research and teaching, we deal with current issues that not only occupy the world of academia, but also our entire society. For example: "Populism and Democracy" or "Climate Ethics".

Conference "Truth and Lies in Politics"

In an inter-university cooperation, the University of Konstanz, the Friedrich Alexander University Erlangen-Nuremberg and the Sigmund Freud Private University Vienna acquired a conference grant from the Fitz Thyssen Foundation. The conference "Truth and Lies in Politics" took place in Vienna from March 29 to 31, 2023.
